t this point the best that can be done is an intensive investigation by a bipartisan commission

You're not going to get a bipartisan commission. For that to happen you'd have to have a real mystery that everyone is anxious to resolve. There is no mystery here. The D's aren't going to formerly participate in investigating something that they already know didn't happen. Such a commission would inherently be a sham with the D's and others just humoring the Trumpers.

Rather than a formal government commission it would have to be something that was managed and funded by R backers, assuming that there are any deep-pocked R backers who actually buy into the steal myth and would be willing to pay to play. Dunno if there are any such.

The alternate would be a grass roots initiative coordinated by someone with an interest and time on his hands.

For examples, the Zuckerberg money

I framed my thought experiment to address election fraud. I used as example your bit about the barriers to block observers watching the count.

Issues like the propriety of Z's grants already have a vehicle for solution. There are state governments where it occurred that have Trumpy leadership and investigative bodies to deal with any illegalities that may have occurred. It's their jurisdiction. Perhaps the matter has been looked into in some states but they didn't consider the charge viable or worth pursuing.

The same would be the case with all the peripheral issues where there were maneuvers where rules were changed for covid. Those changes, which affront you, can and should be pursued in their states. If the authorities are disinclined, then there are lawsuits.

There are already mechanisms available to pursue those matters. Seems to me that there isn't a lot of that happening is telling. Tells me that that there's not as much there as you think. In any case, superimposing a commission to investigate on top of that seems redundant. At the most it would be helpful if someone was keeping track of all the inquiries and their status and reporting that to the public so there would be a single reliable source, which was part of my original thought experiment.
