That is exactly correct, and well said.
In a bull market you should always be looking for a buying opportunity. That is a bullish mind set.
In a bear market you should always be looking for a shorting opportunity. That is a bearish mind set.
It is hard to have a bearish mindset because it is contrary to habit and contrary to our natural optimism.

Somone said the other day that the market went up 80% of the time.
In the twenty years between 1996 and 2016 we had 53.29% days up and 41.71% days down.
From 2016 to 2021 we had 54.86% days up and 45.14% days down.

The market moves up in five waves and drops in three waves. I normally just look for 60 % up and 40% down.

Just some interesting information to help with our thinking.
