That's a simplistic view of "the current reality". It makes 'sense' in a child's cliche/slogan way of looking at things.
I prefer a more democratic humanist view of the world, people and property.
For examples, in an effort to recognise what local people want, and to maximise individual degrees of freedom, Brexit, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Barbados , Quebec and others have held votes to determine whether local rule was preferred.
In other variations, USA "unsigns" and generally abrogated agreements
To resolve local conflicts Yugoslavia was broken up into several smaller countries.
Rather than using military murder to decide rule of Donetsk, Luhanxk and Crimea, it is sensible and reasonable to arrange voting in those places.
USA and Ukraine after the illegal and murderous coup in 2014, which was arranged by DementiaJoe10%, Nobel Peace Prize Obama, unvirtuous Victoria, and co-conspirators, set about conquering the east and Crimea to continue the onslaught against Russia.
The answer is simple.
When the simple and reasonable answer is refused, the reasons need consideration. The main reason is that USA is on the attack against Russia.
That forces Russia into possession of China. Gas and resources will flow east to China instead of west to Euroserfs.
Euroserfs are already whining like a fleet of Koreans because of gas prices, supply cuts, and rouble payments being required.
That is stupid.
