I've not had much success with spin outs. Perhaps my analytical skill set needs improving. Mostly agree with petal - it's tough at least at first when the spun out is loaded with debt.

Satisfied with the % gain on the few Carrier (CARR) I got from the spin out from United Technology. (Even though the stock has fallen to near 12-mo low) . Warmer climate should be good air con. companies.

Honeywell loaded Garrett with asbestos liabilities. GTX is a possibility for ev's or enhanced ice performance. Seems to fluctuate around my purchase price

Becton, BDX, spun out Embecta (EMBC) recently. I'm holding a few BDX shares, and have held on to my EMBC and added a bit more. No real commitment or conviction though.

XPO Logistics spun off its logisitics business (GXO) to focus on being a truck business. XPO has dropped with the falling market, and I decided I'd buy a few shares.

I bought a few shares of Colfax knowing that it was going to split up. I got a few shares of ENOV (Enovis, a med tech co) which I'm holding for now. And a few shares of ESAB (ESAB Corp, a metal fabricator). So far, in red with this.
