How can you “weaken” a nation

Follow the money. That's what it's all about anyway.

Weaken them by bankrupting as many public and private entities as possible. Including Russian tycoons who might or might not have influence with Putin? Royally p*** off the population enough to cause major protests..........as much as something like that is possible in an authoritarian state.

I'm not following the war as much as I did earlier now that Winter is behind us, but I understand there are a few hold-outs still willing to buy from Russia. Hold-outs like India and China, with others ending their relationships asap. The U.S. and its allies are really putting on the pressure. If it lasts long enough Putin might eventually cave.

Agreements are nice, but eventually many are broken. Russia is still a member of the Partnership for Peace Program, but parties to these kinds of agreements stray from original intent as Ukraine did with the Minsk Agreement.

In some cases when these agreements fall apart, wars are started, and all hell breaks loose.
