I am a social libertarian and fiscal conservative. That used to mean Republican, but since Clinton (perhaps Reagan) it has gradually shifted to mean Democrat. Nonetheless I do not identify with either party. I can find things that Trump got right and Obama or Biden get wrong and vice versa. Zen teaches us that the act of labeling prevents us from seeing the reality for what it is. The partisanship in the US has prevented the ordinary people from seeing the truth or even communicating properly with each other; everyone is just screaming past each other. In the end, life is too short to be spent on politics. I have found that now I respect a craftsman or an artist that creates a fine piece much more than most politicians. The politics in the US is not broken; it is shattered to pieces and each fragment is fractured into parts...The near future is a lost cause. Leaders should focus on what will come after that. What do you think will happen the next time that the election is disputed?
