I was delivering my boys to my sister's house the morning St. Helens blew. Coming down I-405 on my way back home I saw a mushroom cloud way off in the distance and knew right away what it was. I would never have been out on the freeway at 8 am if I hadn't been leaving for a work trip. A most amazing site to be sure and one I'll never forget. We camp and hike Rainier and St. Helens every yr.
