And then the old tactic of "wishful thinking" would prevail once again.

The Democrat strategy in dealing with Russia: Wish for their autocratic leader to die, then wish for his successor to be a nice guy.

Didn't work in Venezuela, North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Cuba, Libya, Syria, Kosovo, or even the former Soviet Union, but hey, maybe this time we'll get "lucky" ...
