The current Roe framework is aligned with the scientific position on when a fetus becomes a person (i.e. in the 3rd trimester and is when the State can regulate abortions). In the 3rd trimester it's possible that the infant is viable on its' own. In the second trimester the State can regulate procedure.

In the first trimester, abortion is solely at the discretion of the woman and her doctor. Banning any abortions (no exceptions) at this stage is valuing the life of the fetus over that of the mother. A non-viable fetus has more rights than the mother. The state is controlling her body. This is not a right to life. This is a control issue. It's aging republican men (4 out of 5 of the supreme court judges), deciding that a woman shouldn't have the right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.
