I used to but since I cant eat mammal meat, I don't anymore plus I almost think of them as pets. I have a few does that see this as their safe place. They leave their fawns near the house knowing I wont let coyote close and when they get older, they bring them into the yard to show them off.
Its funny that the longer I live here, the less I want to hunt anyway. Even the turkey are getting safer. I had never known that they live for 15ish years. Some of my turkeys don't even see me as a threat anymore so I would feel like I was shooting my pet dog if I accidently shot one of the tame ones. I went through that when I deer hunted too, I always had to try and make sure I was only shooting bucks that never came near the house. We used to joke I needed to shoot them with paint ball guns so I could keep track who was who easier. I know almost all my deer now. I have 4 Tom turkeys that visit my yard regularly too. I don't think the old man made it through the winter though. I haven't seen him yet this year. He had a beard that was almost a foot long. Someone shot my true pet deer I think. I used to feed him on my porch. When it started, his rack hadn't started to grow yet so we named him spike. We didn't realize he was a nice buck and we watched his rack grow and grow........... I guess he went after a doe somewhere and wandered off the property and disappeared. Some hunter probably got an easy shot since he didn't see humans as a threat.

Here is how he started

And here is a bit later in July ...
By November he was pretty nice. I have a better shot on my phone but not on this computer.

EDIT - Note his double brow tine on one side. That's how I knew it was him out and about. They all have some missing fur, something unique with their rack, color of fur etc.
