I posted before that I think the medical community made a decision about a decade ago about the correlation between mental illness (depression, anxiety, etc) and gender dysphoria. They seem to have collectively decided that lack of acceptance of trans causes the mental illness, not that the dysphoria is a symptom of underlying mental illness. So the standard became to blindly enable the dysphoric individual, rather than treat underlying illness.

We've known for decades that dysphoric individuals are overwhelmingly depressed, anxious, and even bipolar individuals who may have backgrounds of abuse or family dynamics. And we've known for decades that dysphoric individuals overwhelmingly grow out of dysphoria by the time they are 25, which not coincidentally coincides with maturation of the frontal cortex and also stabilizing adult relationships.

It is a crime that the medical community is pushing this pseudo-science and mutilating children based on a feel-good hunch. I imagine most are not told that if they change their minds in adulthood, the puberty blockers most likely will sterilize them. So even "non-surgical" early intervention is life-destroying.
