I believe US banks are under pressure from ESG warriors to NOT lend to fossil fuel producers.... So while Biden asks them to up production, Warren wants to tax their "excess profits" and the others want to punish anyone who lends them money... The smart move is for BIG US producers to keep pumping and paying dividends and ignore the noise and let the high risk, smaller companies (who may not earn enough income to attract Warren or Bernie) pay higher fees to banks who will lend to them.
