You prefer a modicum of variance with no room for improvement.

Didn't say or suggest that.

I meant that I wanted to restore "regular order," to reestablish norms and institutions. Most presidencies stay within normal tolerances.

Of course I have preferences wrt direction and policies. The first order of business, though, is to reestablish stability. Only within a framework of stability do direction and policies even matter. You don't bother with what size of TV to buy when the house is on fire. You put the fire out first.

Since you never recognized that the house was on fire and that that was a bad thing, your focus remained on the size of the TV. As long as the house is still smoldering and could flare up again, I put aside the TV choice. Everything in its time.

I want serious disruption.

Fire starter.
