skin my view may not be popular , Putin and the Russian people actually looked up to the US . After the 2nd world war and Stalin , Russian people had had enough of the madness . That is why they allowed it to be dismantled . They might have been expecting some kind of aid to help them transition to an economy that creates jobs , invents new technologies . Something the whole world looked up to America for . Respect us respect our borders was said . Help us develop was probably only heard at the Presidential level . Instead the US and the western world spun into anti Russian insanity . As you say a Nuclear War is in no ones best interests .
