| | | I pretty much summarized what your words imply No, you didn't. Fighting together with the USSR in WWII - or with Hitler - is… “Similar” or analogous That's a much better summary (of one point). With the proviso that it would only apply to countries that were attacked by the Soviet Union (and not attacked in retaliation but as an aggressive act by the USSR.
Stalin was about on a level with Hitler as a horrible oppressor, less of a danger in terms of attacking other countries but he did that too. Also he was a significant supporter of Germany and enabled Hitler's war to a significant extent so he even bears some responsibility of Hitler's attacks.
they all simply settled on starving them to death
The Nazis controlled that. They had most of the perimeter. Finland didn't due much to try to stop it. Stalin intentionally didn't try to evacuate civilians from the city. All have some responsibility of the results, but it was mostly on the Germans.
Here’s to freedom of speech. Agreed.
Let’s all be friends. I certainly would like things to be friendly here.
Don't really agree with your link though. If Ukraine found some deal they were willing to live with, I don't think Biden, or NATO generally would try to stop it. What Ukraine wouldn't agree with (unless they have no other choice), is to give up any additional territory from the status before February. That would potentially taking a bit now, taking a bit later etc. They also want the territory they lost in 2014 back, which isn't an unreasonable desire but might be harder to achieve, and which Russia will resist more (probably particularly Crimea, yes the Donbass was the reason given for escalating the war and their current declared aim, but Crimea was simply assumed, and has been annexed for 8 years, and includes the homeport for the Black Sea Fleet. |
