Sure, lots of good things just no real way to pay for them. Lots of ridiculous things, as well. Recent example: we banned fracking. Sounds great, right? We'll, there ain't no fracking here and never will be except to increase water flow in old artesian wells. We also just spent a bunch of time in addition to that passing a bill to ban deed restrictions based on race, etc. Great, eh? Well, they've been illegal and unenforceable based on federal statutes for decades.

What should be the focus is how to keep our population from aging further by programs to encourage the young to move here and/or stay here and have kids, etc. Not much on that front over the last several decades as we watch things decay.

Progressive policies are all well-intentioned and I support many if not most. But ignoring reality is not a great policy, progressive or not.
