I'd have a lot more respect for the study if they bothered to do the same with severe Flu. As I've repeated time and again the Severe long lasting cases of the flu can have a major impact on the mental process.

In either case the question is are these permanent? I saw a lot friends regain their sharpness after a year. Its debilitating but often not permanent.
