That's crazy, Brumar, assuming the article is true. It's the very JOB of pharmacists to verify the drugs that doctors prescribe.

Doctors often make mistakes, and it's up to pharmacists to catch them and make sure that the patient gets the proper drugs.

For example, the doctor may not be aware that a patient is susceptible to side effects.

Or the doctor may not be aware that the patient is also getting medication from other doctors that may cause complications.

In any case, if the pharmacists are just there to fill prescriptions without question, then there would be no need for pharmacists in general, and the four years of post-graduate schooling that they require wouldn't be necessary, either.
