>>>I know somebody who went from England to Ukraine to fight. A civilian. Young children in Londonistan. Ukrainian, with family still there<<<

No doubt, what the crazy Soviet regime under Stalin did to Ukrainians - along with South Russia - was horrible. A famine by choice. The great world re-structurer and better re-builder Uncle Joe confiscated grain in order to sell it for hard currency - to invest the proceeds in weapons and war technology. (That was also one of the functions of the Gulag camps along the Kolyma river, among others, where people died like flies, by the thousands, digging gold at -30 -40 centigrades and lower - which could be converted into hard currency - and invested in further preparations for war. It’s too bad their generals were idiots - and lost most of those many thousands of tanks and aircraft in the first few days of the war, when it arrived).

But, the level of this hatred and claims of collective guilt some 90 years later are a bit extreme. It must be because of the expats and refugees who managed to impart those hatreds on the younger generations. So, as far as Russia, for many of them time has stopped - at the most horrible moment in their history.
