In the early 90’s, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania voted over 80% for independence. Russia ignored the vote.

Eventually, they achieved independence.

Ukraine has just experience 5 million or more people that were forced to leave the country due to Russia invading, bombing, raping and killing people by the thousands.

In this environment, ceasefire should be priority number one. Russia should then leave.

Democracy for various areas could take place when peace is achieved, not before it.
