part of the reasons I left was because, insurance cos in particuklar no longer allowed you to take care patients and wanted you to refer everything, especially if they did not have to pay... the trick was I knew u had pneumonia, so I instituted therapy, or acne or w/e, however they insisted that in the case of pneumonia, i had to send to ER, and get this, if they did not meet admission criteria, i. e were not dying with a fever and a wbc count of 18K or some other, would not admit the patient and If u goto ER and are not admitted, it goes against your deductible usually 1500.00 for some corporate patients, so insurance does not have to pay, it just went downhill from there, that was 2010, I was in private practice and insurance cos dont want you to do anything for the patients really except give a pill or refer or better yet, just collect copay and be done...nevermind what the patient actually needed at the time-

i'm no expert in anything, in fact i dont know jack shit really except that i want to keep my freedom and from being oppressed economically or otherwise.
