Larry,

Got to respond .... yousef has the fab being 'liquidated' (look out folks in Richardson,TX) and you have TXN getting out of DRAM ... ' a .25u plant can not make it!'

If you read the article, it's clear that TXN is buying out Hitachi (so initially they're actually getting deeper into the DRAM business) and is going to keep the fab going while they 'examine their long-term options'. I bet the plant doesn't miss a day. BTW I wish you were right about .25 ... MU would be dog meat.

TXN always comes off as a poor cousin next to MU in the DRAM business. Surprised me to learn that DRAM was $400M for them in the Dec. quarter. Puts them right up there neck-and-neck with the big MU. Course they're losing money and MU isn't. Wonder if they carry as much inventory as MU ... and if they value at cost as MU does (oops folks, we got a slight inventory write-off here but aside from that yessir we are the WORLD'S LOW-COST PRODUCER and we are (uhh, were) making money ... yesireee Bob!!)

regards, Mike
