It seems, mostly they're worried about the million men Ukraine may mobilize soon - and about the fact that with NATO’s help, they may be able to arm them well.
This, is more or less, what Ritter was saying. If the Russians want to win, they need to abandon the “limited operation” idea. What about raising a larger army - and, with a good size force, invade the Western regions? That’s where the weapons come in, no? That would make it a lot more difficult.

Seriously speaking, it may even save us having a global nuclear war. Because that’s the direction things seem to be drifting, at present.

Edit - having though of it, this sounds a little harsh. But, if it will escalate - and it will - I’d rather see it escalate in the realms of staying a conventional, non-nuclear war.
