Some more good comments from an e-mailer / stockholder>
I've seen wishful thinking and optimistic #'s like 100 DVGs on the 1st order and 100 every month. Seems like an awful lot for one company to buy. I could maybe see it if a major carrier like worldcom, mci, sprint, at&t wish to jump into the internet phone business with both feet big time and want to move extremely quick to get them installed in every major location throughout the US and world.
But even then, it would seem that they would roll them out slower...initially.

But I'm not sure about a major non-carrier company or a company that isn't making it a business to resell/repackage the DVG...like a CISCO or Bay Networks maybe. I wonder what a large order would be from a US Robotics, Hughes, Philips, Texas Instruments? Would they maybe just start with trying to tie their major company headquarters together throughout the world. Say...10 in the US, 5 in Europe, 1 in Canada, 1 in South America, 5 in Asia and 5 for miscellaneous. That's a total of 27 and that's $540,000 at $20,000 a piece....with maybe more somewhere down the road as the VP's look at the quality and savings first hand. Not bad, but not earth shattering (100 dvg's & more each month).
Also, something like this would be a huge decision for a company and would probably start off in smaller stages...i.e., pilot programs, once the hardware provider was decided (evaluations). So, you may actually see things happening in smaller numbers for private companies as they get their feet wet and look for any unforeseen problems with this bleeding edge tech.
So, say 5 fortune 500 companies sign on and commit to buy (non-carrier, non-redistribute, non-communications maker hardware types)...what is a reasonable and conservative estimate of their initial orders? 5, 10, 15, 20, 100?
If another company with a goal like FNET's buys, then it may be huge if they have deep pockets, but it seems the latest talk has been on basic fortune 500 companies.
Pack Rat, I think your right, slow and steady is going to be the WORD for the next few months. If you get a company hooked on 5 or 10 for the initial setup, then you "should" have them for the next 5 years and beyond building their own networks / and possibly tieing into FNet.
