Take any political leader, or person in power and in position of influence, they really are just expressing the expectations from the people they have influence over. Thus, I would say, Napoleon was just expressing the power and the will of the people in post revolutionary France. In one way he was truly a dictator, but in another sense he was just a flag, a representation of the will of the people. I read that somewhere btw, it's not a concept I dreamed up, -g- but I believe it to be apt. And it will be the "Marie Antoinette" politicians of this world, dictators and otherwise, who would leave a generation of pissed off crypto warriors imho. They will be living in castles built on a bedrock of a most fragile of fragile sandstones and surrounded by a very deep and dry moat. A Coyote and Roadrunner scenareo springs to mind.
