Nuclear power is cost competitive with other forms of electricity generation, except where there is direct access to low-cost fossil fuels.
And such direct access to low cost fossil fuel is relatively uncommon. Which means it’s safe to say that overall, nuclear is probably the most economical form of energy. But the bums don’t like it - they want their sun and wind, which in the end cost 4-6 times as much (using LCOE - the total cost). Adopting wider use of nuclear would place a nation in a very advantageous situation. France gets most of their electricity from nukes. Good for them.
