Mike, One of the technology newsletters, not Hickey's or Murphy's, also covered accounting scams tech cos. use in their current issue.
My feeling is that spin doctoring the numbers is standard practice, actual criminality fairly rare, as the rules are written with loopholes attached, and many tech firms deserve to get gold medals for their ability to report something out of nothing without even having to do public service. MU and IBM are two of my favorites, though APCC used to put out some whoppers, too, before they wrote off all their previous tall tales. -g- MB
