I had a chance to talk briefly with David Norris (CFO) today. I asked him about the $93 million mentioned in the Financial Post article, and he said that he wasn't sure who was releasing that info, but it wasn't Eco. I got the impression that they have not settled on the official price.

He said that officially they are only announcing an interest in making an investment in DBCO at this time, and that any other information about buyouts etc will only be released via public Eco press releases.

However, he did say that there may be a conference call this friday. And possibly another after earnings next week. But said that there would definitely be at least one.

I also asked about rumors that Eco's position in EIFH would be bought out in the next couple months. He said that there had been discussions regarding that possibility, but again there was no official statement along those lines.

I also asked him about tax rates in 1998 and he said that they are currently basing their projections on a 38% tax rate. However, he did agree that if DBCO was acquired, there would likely be NOLs available from them.

Should definitely be an interesting conference call (or calls).

David
