I don't understand the reason for the run-up. As I understand it, Larry Ellison said last quarter was on track just a few days before poor earnings were announced. The stock plunges, losing almost half its value. Then, he twice makes more bullish comments (mainly about the North American market, pointedly omitting Asia) and the stock rebounds. What has changed in a month? Aren't earnings going to be flat next quarter? Why should I pay 37 times earnings for no growth? Just because Mr. Ellison -- with his not entirely reliable track record of predicting his own company's earnings -- makes some bullish comments?

I do not have all the information sources available to other people on this thread, so maybe there are good solid reasons for the run-up. And I hope that I have properly summarized the chain of recent public pronouncements by Mr. Ellison and other Oracle executives (if I didn't, I apologize).

But I just don't understand the recent rebound.

P.s. I am long -- just full of doubt.
