I don’t doubt your expertise in the matter of natural foods and foraging. You seem to have bridged the gap to making it a business, partial or otherwise, too. Congratulations!
Likewise, if I meet my previous landlady again, I would not call her ignorant.
She had little appreciation for science or modern farming methods, and had rejected them since childhood. She was an expert in foraging wild foods and is no spring chicken either, also something I would not say to her. -g-
She had a poor view of males of our species, had been married, more than once I believe, and had children. She tolerated me as I do have appreciation of science and the mechanical, electronic, and electro mechanical trades and a reasonable carpenter who paid the rent on time. Although we didn't like each other much, we got along because of our separate expertise. We had a common view that the Covid thing was BS and she was my saviour when I managed to get out of hospital post a car crash at the onset of the Covid debacle. I needed a place to live after some friends had temporarily put me up. I still get an occasional call from her on one matter or another, and that is OK. If I ever did need to identify any of the shrooms you also collect, she would be the first person I would call. I don't dabble in that kind of stuff though. No friggin way -g-.
The problem with DDT is that it was overdone on the sell side. Just look at any of the adverts from the era. Like anything there is upsides and downsides.
Rather than live in harmony, there has been a growing trend to make a partisan fight over every blessed thing in life. Unnecessary in most cases imho and unhealthy. There is little need to force ones POV in life on everyone else as we all are not perfect. Not even Bill Gates or Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Far from it. Gentle persuasion and mutual education is far as it needs to go, but sometimes the differences of opinion overwhelm things and problems escalate and get out of control. We seem to be at one of these points in history.
The French revolution was unbelievably nasty, but it can get a lot worse than that with modern weapon systems. I am hoping and praying we don't go down that route. |
