We were more power boat folks..........although we I was pretty young when Dad owned a 32' ketch. We spent a lot of time in the Puget Sound. Dad did some bargaining for some of his boats, and traded something for a 100 + foot yacht that was one owned by Clara Bow. He had bigger ships..........the longest being a 170' ship that he picked up in Tokyo.

Dad finally got his unlimited Captain's license a couple of yrs before he passed on. He traversed the world several times in his job and for pleasure, and I traveled along the west coast and good parts of the Pacific ocean on his personal boats and ships when I was a kid, but I didn't go nearly as far as Annie Brassey did. I have journaled about most of my adventures.
