Very interesting discussion about Taiwan - China. It’s convincing - IF you assume that the CCP wants to “conquer” Taiwan - and hang their flag over Taiwan Gov building. As little as I know about this conundrum, I get a sense that when China's leaders say that Taiwan can do anything they want - except take a turn towards complete independence - it sounds like they’re telling the truth.

Think about it - both Taiwan and the PRC are growing like crazy. Taiwan is the world leader in chip manufacturing - and the PRC is their best customer. Both sides are benefitting greatly from the relationship. Simple question — WHY would either side want to rock the boat? Just so they could destroy this incredibly productive symbiotic relationship?

Indeed, most Taiwanese in most polls said that of all possible scenarios they’d prefer the status quo. The pro-independence crowd is a relatively small minority.
