I’ve had that discussion with a friend.. very bright retired Wall Street exec.. and he makes the same point you have. My offset to that pov is when the communists tell you that they’re going to do something it’s best to believe them.

As Fennel points out the ccp is surrounding Taiwan and fully mobilizing their people to take Taiwan back into the CCP. As Gaffney & Fennel highlighted they even put out a video explaining how it’ll be done.
