It wasn't until Michael Dell told the street that Asia had a positive effect in lower labor costs for assembly that the street understood that Asian effect weren't all bad. Someone will tell them that infrastructure is needed, most likely the crying ISP when explaining an earnings miss. It (infrastructure) will definitely be needed for the next level of higher speed modems.

And yes I mentioned GBX550 in the wrong area in one of my recent posts, but if the speed of gigabite ethernet requires ATM, according to B.J. Johnson, VP of CPQ, in his keynote address to the Gigabit Ethernet conference in San Jose late last year, then why wouldn't a big ATM switch ultimately be needed for higher speed modems. I admit I don't really have a clue if this is right, but I am guessing.
