One thing I especially love about working the land is it lets me think. I was pondering all the discussion here where AJ talked about construction woes and stuff I read over the weekend from a land developer who was complaining about construction cost over runs making development projects not worth the investment anymore and switching to existing buildings etc. Then I was thinking about the huge jumps in DLTR and DG last week. Existing sales were not great. Their growth is dependent on adding new stores.
It seems to me that until construction slows and brings down costs, most brick and mortar company growth is not going to make financial sense. Either they are going to have to wait or the payback is going to suffer. Both will hurt short term.
TA wise though, DG and DLTR have island reversals unless they fill the gaps.
