The DG island looks like it will get sunk. Not so sure about the DLTR one.

Speaking of retail expansion, here's a little known tidbit that helped propel the value of Walmart stock up high in the 90's.

Whenever Walmart converted a conventional Walmart (maybe 80,000 sq feet) to a Walmart Supercenter (around 160,000 sq feet), the new location was deemed a same store location, even though is was in a different place and twice the size.

The new, double size store would do about 50% more business right off the bat. This enabled same store sales numbers to be skewed upwards during the 90's and 00's when Walmart was converting so many of these original Walmarts to Walmart Supercenters.
