Everything you state SEEMS to be of sound logic.

But the CCP is about power and control.

And given that their property market makes up something like 63% of their GDP, including suppliers and labor force, they are facing a serious economic "come to Jesus" moment.

They are starting to default on USD denominated debt as well. and that's likely only to increase.

I also believe we'll see increasing sales of US Treasuries from their "piggy bank" in order to prop up their banking system..

But overall, their economy is "toast" and they won't see serious GDP growth for years, if ever again, IMO.

Aging population, property values wiped out, lack of jobs, growing dissent??

What better way to "unify" everyone a nationalistic theme they can't oppose, while also sending the signal to the US and world that they can make our combined lives a living hell..

Mao killed 45 million Chinese to maintain CCP rule. I have no doubt that Xi, or any other CCP leader is capable of the same actions, regardless of what their Capitalist class may want..

Because the wealth is all about maintaining power and control over others, not just getting rich..

And the CCP leadership will push control and self-preservation over wealth any day of the year, IMO.
