if so it happens that Ukraine is on the verge of a total defeat and is about to offer unconditional capitulation — do you think the US and NATO should come in and openly join Ukraine’s fight against Russia?

The US can and does unimaginable stupid stuff ....e.g. Afghanistan, Waco, Ruby Ridge etc.
