| | | Wonder why you think that? The last thing Japan wants to see is reunification of the two Koreas. Would that be the very last thing, or just last in a bunch of less than desirable events? I guess the contrary. Japan would like to see South Korea take over North Korea, just as West Germany took over East Germany = a mostly happy outcome = much better than the Berlin Wall and MAD.
Heck, I'm getting old. I remember the scary Berlin Wall going up overnight, and it was already a third of a century ago that it was removed. And it lasted for a third of a century.
I would like to see the two Koreas join up.
I think it is a case where the Japanese elites (the same grouping that started WWII) know full well that w/o the US, they would be done in by neighbors.
Do you really think that? "same grouping" I know Japanese live to a ripe old age, but I heard a rumour that Emperor Hirohito died a third of a century ago and I recall slow marching and a bereaved following lady. I guess that Yamamoto and those who took part in conquest and mass murder in Manchuria, Korean, China, Singapore, and a lot more have died. 1945 was 77 years ago. A 20 year old then would be 97 now and no doubt there are some of them still around. 20 year olds were not the bosses. But it could be that my mother's cousin Harper Bongard who died in a prisoner of war camp in Japan was maliciously murdered by somebody still alive.
I'm willing to take the chance that bygones should be left in history when pretty much everyone has died, near enough for government work.
Should the father's sins be blamed on the son? I agree with that in the case of rape of a woman who aborts or kills the baby, and I also agree that sons tend to be pretty closely related to their father's characteristics, just as a pit bull dog has male pups that have pit bull nature rather than that of a beagle. Even so, I'm not keen on genocide based on historical antipathies.
In a couple of months we'll be hosting our 1993 Japanese exchange student's teenage daughter whose company I enjoy. Should I really get revenge on her, or are you just thinking of Chinese, Koreans and co in general getting revenge on her. Heck, I guess I had better send more money to USA ready to nuke China, Korea in defence of her? Do you have others I should prepare to nuke to stop their plan to "done in by neighbours"? Should I add Hong Kong to my nuclear target list? It is now a department of Beijing.
I was hoping we'd avoid more wars after the USA/Ukraine war, which should also have been avoided as per my recommendations.
Meanwhile, I'd like there to be no war over Taiwan. But looks as though nuking China might be necessary if you are right. Tienanmen paving could be turned to a big glass slab with the correct altitude explosion.
Ii liked it much better when Made in China was good stuff with a rapidly increasing standard of living for a billion Made in China people. But maybe they are bored and would like some genocidal war. I recommend against it. Maybe you are right.
If Taiwan decided to be an independent country like Solomon Islands, Tonga, Fiji etc which China's bloke has been visiting, it's a puzzle why that's a problem for the bosses in Beijing. Since China has abrogated the Hong Kong agreement, UK should take it over again, hold elections and declare it an independent country. The lease long ago was from people quite different from the bosses now in Beijing. Anyway, there was nearly nobody in Hong Kong when the lease was agreed and it's a bung idea to think the many millions now living there should be handed over like a herd of cattle to some bunch of thugs who have no reason at all to make a claim on their lives. It would be more reasonable to hand Hong Kong over to Taiwan, or form a joint venture Taiwan/Hong Kong.
Now that Ukraine is looking resolved, a rumble in the jungle over Taiwan/Hong Kong/Japan/North Korea should get things going. South China sea too.
