Hi John,

I can verify that drilling in the Gulf of Mexico has indeed started a sport fishing industry that has blossomed into some of the best fishing in the World.

Go to Venice LA (where the Mississippi meets the GOM delta) and you'll see charter boats that go out every day and find vast varieties of fish. They go straight to the drilling rigs and catch species of fish that suspended based on their species. Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper,Shark, and a host of small bait fish that attract the bigger fish.

To the contrary, it does not hurt fishing it greatly enhances the fishing. The US and their Oil E&P Majors know how to do it with clean water and minimal discharging of pollutants into the air and water.

It has been that way for decades. I know, I've fished those waters for that long.

It simply a falsehood being touted by a bureaucrat getting paid too much to pontificate on a subject they know nothing about. Much like how Joe knows about the border - he's never been there!
