Hey E!

Did you see this:

yahoo.com
The net result of the two factors -- $10 billion
and $5 billion -- is that the 1998 semiconductor market could be as
low as $160 billion, resulting in a growth of seven percent
versus its previous forecast of 17 percent growth, Dataquest said.

---

Like most forecasts in the semi-industry this is like throwing darts.

If we go single digits again in 1998 that would mean:

- 1996 was anemic - -2%?
- 1997 was anemic - +4%
- 1998 will be anemic - +7%

All this means is that at some point it will be time to load up the
gondola because we will be doing the 1994-1995 jig and the stocks
of semi and semi-equips will quadruple or better over a 2-year frame.
(The overall semi-growth rate of 17% will return and more than
likely in the ensuing years we will make up for these last few years
of poor growth by going gang-busters for 2-3 years.)

The loading may have to wait till late 1998 or could just accumulate
the creme de la creme on dips and wait. This is for the non-trading
portion of any portfolio.

Maybe I should just do as you do and buy tomorrow?

Another thing that concerns me is this war thing?

Already heavily invested all around (the margin bag's a loaded) but
have a bit of empty space to fill.
