"an generational opportunity of a life time, a contrarian bet that has paid off in spades". Yessir!

Got in near the lows on APA and XOM and still aboard. I like the big oils as deep sea is going to be a big part of the future and they are beyond some of the stupid national or state politics (as in US and as in NM) that can hang up smaller outfits.

My favorite lesson in financial success was short and intense. I was in Chicago working at Fermi Lab. One night the local news had this ancient billionaire codger on who was from Chicago. He was born and raised there...left...made a fortune in real estate, I think. The city had talked him into donating several millions for some good deed and he was in town to get thanked, etc. His private plane lands, he totters out, this gorgeous young blonde was tenderly propping him up and helping him across the tarmac. A mob of reporters for the local news outfits descend on him. One fellow pipes up and says "Sir, could you share with your fellow Chicago citizens your key to achieving financial success?" He stops, gives the young whippersnipper a piercing look, and then in a thin wavery voice says "Buuuuyyyyy loooooooooww, Selllll hiiii."

It works. Hard to do. Especially when the media and our friends are telling us "now that's a terrible investment...look how beaten up it is!" On that thought, I added a little more COHU again recently.

One thought on buying ranch land..try an area where it rains regularly. Right now that sure ain't out here. I always liked the Texas panhandle. Kind of wild country up there still and they do get rain and gnarly winters.

Nice looking boats...nice dreams. It's all gonna work out.
