The vote to acquit on impeachment and to oppose the charges in the first place were high violations of constitutional duty by each member who voted that way. That is the red line. Each one of them knew all of this—and they thought it was fine.

It is impossible for me to ever again respect, much less support, any candidate or current officeholder who voted against impeachment in any way. I don’t care if I agree with everything else they believe. That vote on its own was forever disqualifying.
