Thanks, Martin. I followed your previous link--the last one worked!--and checked it out. $11 dollars is exactly what I reackoned. But for me it's just a feel for the stock perhaps. There is no other company I feel as confident in owning. Maybe it goes down to $3.50 first? I will just buy and buy and buy if it does. Normally, I don't like to clutter the biotech threads, since my background (in science) is in physics and computers. But, hey, noone else is here. But it will take a very big increase in price in a short time to get me to part with these shares. Ariad is slow to develop, and everyone sees risk. At some point everyone will see value. I think Microsoft went public at something like a 300-400 million dollar cap, not adjusted for inflation.
I think of Ariad as one of the few "Operating System" companies in biotech. The gene therapy 1-2-3 punch is an example. They are the only ones to cover the bases that I would want covered before entering into tampering with my genes. And if it is just blood cells that are tampered with, and they run amok somehow, then they can be disposed of. Who else has this covered?
Of course, it has not been shown to be viable. But there were plenty of doubts about the microprocessor... If I were Amgen, I would be scared as heck. If Ariad's protein therapy works, watch Amgen stock crash--probably after an irrational runup.
Yak, Yak, Yak... Gotta get some sleep.
As Rick says,
Cheers!
