The Red Army did not liberate anyone in Europe, it was the same occupier as the Third Reich. Mass rapes were not properly punished, the number of sentences was minimal. The Russian army, like the Red Army, is a collection of rapists and marauders, but today we can repay them in full for our deeds.
1. Let's start with the famous diary of Vladimir Gelfand, who spent his whole life in the USSR and later helped protect these women. That is why his memoirs are the most interesting and objective. Quotations will be given in the original language, entry for 04/25/1945 (V. Gelfand. Diaries 1941-1946):
- They poked here, - the German woman explained, showing under her skirt, - all night, and there were so many of them. I was a "medhen" (girl) - she sighed and began to cry. “They ruined my life. Among them were old, pimply and smelly, and everyone climbed on me, everyone poked me. There were at least twenty of them, yes, yes, - and burst into tears.
“They raped my daughter in front of me,” the unfortunate mother put in, “they can still come and rape my girl.
“Stay here,” the girl suddenly rushed to me, “you will sleep with me.” You can do whatever you want with me, only you! I'm ready to "fic-fic" with you, I agree to whatever you want, but not them again!
2. Mikhail Koryakov, an officer who did not return to the USSR after the end of World War II, but left an interesting autobiographical story. Below are its fragments (book: M. Koryakov. Liberated Souls):
About looting: “In one tank division, vehicles were checked: the tanks turned out to be so full of looted junk that they would not return to them - in case of surprise, the crews would not be able to conduct military operations.”
About “outrage”: “There was a joke in the Red Army in the spring of 1945: the first echelon got watches, the second one got girls, the third one got junk.
- Upstairs, above the ceiling, there were women's cries, the crying of children. Excited, I began to dress. The girl and the old men of Wunsch begged me not to go there: they would kill me! Last night, an officer of the city commandant's office was killed, who was trying to prevent violence. All night long we listened in fear to the screams of unfortunate women, the crying of children and the clatter, the clatter of heavy soldiers' boots above our heads.
(...) I learned a terrible thing: in three weeks she was raped - by a total of at least 250 people! Frau Wunsch was also raped, even in front of her husband. Two soldiers raped the half-blind and withered Frau Simon.
Important note: Mass rapes were not punished, the number of sentences was minimal.
How Soviet soldiers "liberated" a 12-year-old girl:
“In Liegnitz, a large city near Breslau, things were no better. There was crying in the aunt's house: the granddaughter was dying. On the couch, in the sheets, I saw a girl of about twelve years old, with a thin, transparent, - it seemed, luminous - face and large, like Lanchen's, gray eyes. The girl was raped by a second echelon soldier, and a few days later third echelon soldiers broke into the apartment. The girl, slipping out of their hands, ran up the steep stairs and broke off, fell.
3. Another evidence of the crimes of the "liberators" can be found in the diary of Martha Hiller "Woman in Berlin":
About looting: “(...) several more heroes entered our basement, who were looking not for women, but for times. Later I saw one Ivan with a whole temporary collection in both wrists, with 5-6 pieces, which he constantly aligned, tightened, corrected with childish thieves' joy.
On how the author of the diary was "liberated":
“One pulls my wrist further up. Now the other one is tugging too, and he puts his hand on my throat in such a way that I can no longer scream, I no longer want to scream for fear of being strangled. Both are tearing everything at me, I'm already lying on the ground. Something rattles in my jacket pocket. It must be the keys to the house, my key ring. I was leaning my head against the bottom step of the stairs in the basement, I feel wet cool streams on my back. Upstairs, through a crack in the door, through which a small light falls, I see one of the men who is on guard, while the other is tearing my underwear, looking for his way. I feel around with my left hand until I finally find a bunch of keys. I grab it hard with my left fingers. I defend myself with my right, but nothing helps, he just tore the garter. When I try to get up, staggering, a second one pulls me towards him, with his fists forcing me to kneel on the ground. Now the second guards and whispers: Quickly, quickly ....
And this is only a small part of the memories. Based on the records of the German women of Berlin, a separate film was made (Viasat History, Berlin 1945), where there are hundreds of such stories, and according to other calculations, hundreds of thousands.
And we no longer remember how the liberators raped Slavic women who ended up in the Third Reich (Ostarbeiters), and about the crimes in the liberated territories of Ukraine and Poland. In simple words, if someone thinks that it was just hatred for the Germans, then no - this is the breed of a typical Russian imperialist.
Today history repeats itself.
REMARK - foolish me I was believing it happened only to certain individuals of our family members, originated in Bucovina that was split by Stalin - Czernowitz was part of Romania for centuries now Ukraine. By now I understand a lot from what happened and was kept secret or blamed on the Germans/Ukrainians |
