February 10, 1998 07:00 AM

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- WavePhore, Inc. WAVO WavePhore Networks announced today it has signed a
three-year agreement with Standard & Poor's ComStock to provide satellite uplink services on WavePhore's European data network, and
to provide hardware, installation, and network services during that time. The deal is expected to be worth more than $1 million over the
term of the contract.

Standard & Poor's ComStock is a premier real-time market data provider and leading data redistributor, delivering information from more
than 125 sources and exchanges worldwide. Standard & Poor's ComStock's extensive data coverage includes equities, options, futures,
commodities, foreign exchange, analysis and news.

WavePhore assisted in converting existing Standard & Poor's ComStock sites to WavePhore's new IDR V1000, a variable bit rate receiver
which has the ability to receive data at numerous intervals between 64 and 2,048 kbps. The IDR V1000 also offers Ethernet output and is
designed to take advantage of Internet protocols, greatly enhancing its ability to be used into the future. The initial conversion included
approximately 300 satellite receivers spread across Europe.

"This upgrade represents a major investment in our European infrastructure and will provide important benefits to our customers taking the
data via satellite," said Mark Hepsworth, General Manager, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, for Standard & Poor's ComStock. "We are
pleased to be working with WavePhore in Europe who we have also worked closely with in the United States."

Standard & Poor's ComStock will be the largest customer on WavePhore's new European Network, which provides turnkey data
transmission services across Europe and to parts of the Middle East and North Africa.

"We are excited to expand our relationship with S & P ComStock into Europe," said Tim Bruske, WavePhore's Vice President,
International Networks. "Installing 300 sites all over Europe for such a high profile account will give us a great start in duplicating the success
of our North American network."

Standard & Poor's ComStock is a unit of Standard and Poor's, which is a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies MHP . ComStock has
been providing service to the global financial communities for more than 35 years.
