The Democrats are not in the position to pass a kidney stone in the current environment. The influence of Oligarch money extends beyond party lines.

I'm not sure about the other states, but in Texas the Republicans are fighting hard to make solar and wind fail. It doesn't because it makes much more economic sense than oil, and even the good old boys think first about their pocketbooks.
