This is the MSFT press release from the msft/dec event you weren't aware that was taking place until I told you. Remember? No, I didn't write it myself.

Make no mistake. At this point, I think the future of Alpha is limited. 10 years max, maybe less. If you read Charles, you will note that Alpha is the easiest chip by far to migrate over to Merced. I'm just pointing out stuff you as investors may not be aware of.

Charles, your highly "defensive" tone makes me want to add that you seem even more attached to the sunw mistique than even Addi. You just won't accept anything negative or potentially damaging to enter your sacred space. If you personally OWNED all of sunw, would you look at it the same way? The first thing BillG wants to HEAR is "where are we vulnerable?"

IBM Java Chief Leaves
IBM's chief Java evangelist quietly left the company on Dec. 31. Allan Hess was with IBM for 19 years, spending the last year as business development executive for the company's Java business unit. No replacement has been found. An IBM spokes- woman says Hess "just wanted to look at other companies and opportunities." Hess couldn't be reached for comment.
