No, you said the following:
Covid deaths hit a tad over 1% of the US population
As for death rate vs. reported cases, it used to be around 2-3%. This was at the start of the pandemic, when the coronavirus was novel, vaccines weren't available, and the original strains were more deadly than the strains going around the public these days.

And yes, there are now a TON of unreported cases thanks to the prevalence of at-home test kits.

So given everything that has happened during the course of the pandemic, including vaccines, treatment options, and experience, the actual death rate is probably well under 1%.

In other words, we reached the promised land where COVID-19 is "jUsT lIkE tHe fLuUuUuUuU ..."
