Tom, I posted on the Q Motley Thread my response to the Forbes misinformation on the Q. It's really not that atypical for Forbes: in their zeal to condense complex topics to sound bytes for busy executives, they sometimes miss it completely. That fact that Korea is a sell through market as you point out, and the competition (?) from Ericy and other handset makers who are still trying to pull their ASICs out of their. . . . .laboratories, as the pooch notes. There may be a reason to short the Q but it ain't what Forbes says.

With regard to internet telephony, I think it's the real McCoy and I think the surest sign is that all the big carriers are making deals to get with it cause they know they can't resist it. Ma herself and Deutsch Telecom to name two. There are a couple of hot little companies who have pioneered the field (DT bought 20% of one of 'em)but from an investor's perspective, it's a little scary to know how to play it. The big guys are moving in so maybe a takeover play but I haven't seen the stock I'd like to own yet. Happy to hear your ideas.
On a personal note, I used internet telephony to call my daughter in Spain (phone to net to phone, i.e., neither she nor I had anything but a telephone in our hands) and it worked pretty damn well. Clarity was okay, maybe not great, but o.k. The company we used was some New Jersey outfit and I'm still trying to figure out the bill! I mean it was cheap (I think)but I've submitted the invoice to Arthur Andersen and they're stumped. Don't think this is quite ready for mass consumer market, but it's pretty close. Be good to hear what the pooch thinks. Mike Doyle
